Can I reinstall XP Pro from a store bought CD thats already installed on other computers.? - key store in xp

Heres the deal, Im trying to settle a freinds computer. It was an old door that was installed with XP Pro. Microsoft has a label that says, if XP Pro with bar code and product key. The XP CD I know I will fail the validation are used because their elsware already in use. If I install with the CD, instead of with the product key that came with it, I can type the product key of the bridge and work well.
